Hello PikeView Class of '98ers,

Yeah, it has been around a decade since we got our diplomas and took off into the horizon. Now it's time to celebrate. There have been a few older folks who find out my reunion is coming up and they say "Well, this first one is just a bragging contest." Actually, I remember Mrs...Mrs...Biology teacher...wow, it has been a long time...anyway, I remember her saying that my senior year. That seemed weird back then, and it definitely does now.
As far as I'm concerned, we all have just one thing to brag about. That's the fact that we've gotten to experience 10 years of this extremely interesting world after being prepared for over 10 years prior by the public education system.
Each one of us has stories to tell and lessons to teach, whether you have traveled the globe since graduation, or have stayed within the boundaries of Mercer County...it's all good.
So, let's make this event as successful as it can be. Let's let everyone know about it and let them know that they're wanted. No one should be shy or timid about reconnecting with their roots. Everyone has had ups and downs. Some of us are on the upswing, some on the down, but that's what reminds us that we are living!
A big "THANKS" goes out to Niki, Becky, and Lesley for taking initiative and getting this ball rolling. I know we're all busy, but these three ladies have begun the movement which makes it easier on the rest of us.
So, let us all do our part by checking this website regularly, getting every student's info posted, and be thinking about what each of us can contribute to the reunion details. Together, we can accomplish much, so let's get that momentum moving!

Sincerely,
Your Mighty President,
PDC

p.s. I miss so many of you, I can't imagine what this reconnection is going to feel like!

It has been alot of years since we have went our seperate ways. I remember alot of things. There were some very dad times and some good ones to. Alot of people have changed some for the good and some for the bad. I realized and thinking after the death of Amanda we have a very short life. And i think we should enjoy every minute of our lives. I know alot of people thought i was a nerd and a no nothing in school now i can say i am something. I cant wait to see everyone at reunion

Thanks Patrick...you said it perfectly! I don't care if you are a big wig making a million dollars or struggling to make ends meet. It doesn't impress me if you're rich or make me think worse of someone who has gone through rough times. I just want to see my old friends!!!!
We are really tring to make the best of our reunion and I really want everyone to come and have a great time. We are struggling to get in touch with everyone (I don't want anyone to feel like they were left out) so help on that is really appreciated and to keep cost down we are trying to do all planning through this website.
I remember the first year of PikeView when all the schools were kinda thrown together. Our class is really the first class that reached out beyond our original school and made new friends. I think we had a close class and we were pretty much the shit...lol
So let's all get together and have a fun weekend!!!

i first want to say that im super sorry i cant come to the reunion. the little sister has her life together and is getting married so my plans are made. i truly wanted to do be there and would be under any other circumstances.
on the bright side i will be in the north carolina/ west virginia area during the last week of august and first week of september. hopefully that will provide me a chance to see some of you kids that stayed local. patrick really did an eloquent job writing his posting and thats one of the reasons i still dont like him. i feel like he said what i wanted to say. jerk. (just on the off chance someone doesnt get that patrick is my bro)
i hope everyone is having as fun a life as i have. or at least achieving their goals. (i guess not everyone needs as much fun as i do and some of us are cursed with a "work ethic") but really, nothing would be better than knowing we are all doing well. we were lucky to be where we were when we were there. at least there was no war right? love your lives friends.
sincerely

I don't think that I'll be quoting everyone all the time on here, but it's the newsprint in my blood. These first few submissions really hit home with me. We are an awesome class. We had kinks, and we triumphed. We flowed together as four tributaries into the river....Alright, I've got to go to bed and I might erase this in the morning, but I'm serious that we were in a special time, at a special place, and each of us carry that within us. I can't explain it, but I feel it when I think back. I'm not sure if I realized it then....

Hey Everybody,
Just a thought. What about inviting teachers to the picnic? Also, what about students that for one reason or another didn't graduate with us...are they still invited?

So true, at first I hated the idea of Pikeview because I loved Athens so much, but in the end I would not trade my memories of PVHS for anything.

I agree with Patrick...WE have to invite some of the old teachers! We definitly need to invite Mrs. Shrewsbury...and many others...

Cool, Amanda. I figure if everyone of our classmates who come to the picnic pay the $3 per person and bring a covered dish, then a few teachers would be an added bonus. I don't think we would charge them...a perk for putting up with us!
What do you think, Leslie?

ATTENTION! Just another reminder that money needs to be paid asap! I have to admit that I waited until "the 11th hour" to get it in, and it's done now...WHEW!!! I used a credit card and it was a snap...took 3 minutes.

Is everyone getting excited or what??? Let's hear some comments!!!

I DON'T SEE A PROBLEM WITH INVITING SOME TEACHERS! BECKY WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT.

WE HAVE A COUNT OF 70+ ADULTS AND CHILDREN. NOT EVERY ONE THAT SAID THEY WILL BE COMING, HAVE PAID YET. SO WE ALL NEED TO PUT AN EFFORT IN REACHING OUT AND LETTING THEM KNOW WE NEED NUMBERS. I WOULD HATE TO NOT HAVE ENOUGH!

ALSO FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT SIDE DISH YOU WILL BRING! WE WOULD HATE TO SEE 10 DIFFERENT TYPES OF POTATO SALAD! LOL

Leslie,
That's amazing! It must reflect your personality!
So, beyond this "main course" food, we should all bring a covered dish, right? When would you like for us to let you know what we're bringing?

It's not a must that you tell me what you will bring. Some have sent me messages just to check and make sure no one else is bringing it. On Wed. I will post a list of every thing that is on that list.

Okay, I'm adding the first comment AFTER the reunion. Beautiful.
Everyone looked and sounded awesome. I didn't get to talk to everyone I would have liked to, so that just means that we have to do this again soon.
Both Camp Creek and Brandon's and Shockers was great, better, best.
It was such a pleasure seeing those past faces that are still vibrant with life and humbled with some wisdom. To everyone I talked to: Thank you... To everyone I didn't get to talk to: Next time we'll hook up... To those who didn't come: I recommend it...There can't be a price put on the conversations I had.
Much Love,
Patrick

I wanted to stop in and say Thank You to every one that came and helped out. Thanks to Jake & Noel for stepping in and being the cooks. Becky & Niki for all your hard work. We had a great turn out and a wonderful time.

It makes me remember all the fun times we had together as a class and as friends. A lot of us have went our own ways but this day was like we never lost touch. Just to think I about talked myself out of this reunion. I like to make a special thanks to Cody, Amanda, Crystal it was really nice to have the old group back together.

So for the next reunion I want to see more from our class.

From observation from afar,Paris, it seems as if I missed a jolly good time. The pics bring a sense of being yet displeasure secondary to not being able to attend. It is truly enjoyable to see former classmates as parents, tax payers, and members of their respective communities. I consider PVHS the pillar of my being for deriving the person whom I am today. From being excepted into National Honor Society to obtaining an under age consumption in the school parking lot...I couldn't and wouldn't change my primary education for a supermodel! Thank you class of 1998...see ya next time!!
