School Story:
The best memory I had of high school was when the school referendum came out, and we were corralled into the auditorium. Joel Cates stood up on the front row of chairs above us and declared that the students would boycott going back to school until we received truth about what the money was going to be spent on.
My time in choir rocked. I ended up performing with my dad in a Barbershop Chorus and competed, receiving 2 medals. I was also in 2 short term bands. :)
On a more serious note, High School was really hard for me. Most of this was due to my desire to be liked by girls in the class. I tried to commit suicide at one point. I didn't have any true friends until my Junior year. If I didn't have my "spiritual intervention", I would have been a "Columbine" kid. Seriously. I know what they thought and felt. It's more painful than anything. The world, especially the class of 90 were the enemy... times change with wisdom. :)
Most of the class remembers me so far as the quiet, nice kid that wore black a lot. I didn't fit in any particular clique. I didn't fit in anywhere, but in the choir... I was primarily ignored or bullied throughout most of my days in high school, but it didn't start there.. It began in 2nd grade (Ol' Westwood Elementary in Prior Lake) ... my first laughs and rejections from a few girls... I didn't fit in the classes either, and it took another 14 years after highschool before I knew what I wanted to do with my life. Now I have become passionate to find ways to help others where I was. Not even death stopped me, nor will it...
