Cindy lived just down the street from me. I knew her since I was in the 8th grade.  She was always friendly and kind to me.  It is so sad to hear of her passing.

I met Cindy in grade school, playing city league softball. For many many years, we played both with and against each other. Cindy was a great athlete as well as a very genuine and kind person. Cindy was pretty shy but we walked home from school together from junior high almost everyday for 3 years and I  had the opportunity to get to know her dreams and wishes. One of which was to play softball in the Olympics. At that time there was no Women's Olympic Softball. Then came the movie A League of Their Own. If only, I thought and I knew some where Cindy was thinking the same. Unfortunately by the time Women's Olympic softball came about in 1996 we were both well beyond our prime. I watched those Olympic Softball games and always thought of how different our lives would have been had our dreams come true. Rest in Peace Cindy!
