Our beloved son and brother, William Kent Werner, returned home to his loving Heavenly Father on January 1, 2004. He was born in Provo, Utah, on September 27, 1963. He was the first child of Glen H. Werner and Dawn Werner Jaussi.
He graduated in 1982 from Timpview High School, where he excelled in track and football. He served an LDS mission to Johannesburg, South Africa. For the past few years, Kent owned and operated a local restaurant.
Kent enjoyed every aspect of life and lived it to the fullest. He loved watching and playing all sports - especially basketball, football and baseball. His outgoing personality and his infectious laugh drew people to him. He was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, three brothers and one sister: Craig (Deanna) of Springville, Jolynn (Todd) Skousen of Draper, David James, and Michael, both of Provo; his grandmother, Ila Sullivan, of Hurricane; seven nephews and five nieces; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him very much.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at 10 a.m., at the Edgemont 4th Ward building, 4000 N. 650 East (Timpview Drive), Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held on Tuesday January 6, from 6-8 p.m., at the same location, and one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in the Hurricane City Cemetery, 10 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2004.

Kent was my clogging partner for several years and we spent many summers traveling the country on clogging tours. He loved a good practical joke and the group got kicked out of at least one hotel because of one or two of them! I was so sad when I heard about his passing because I knew the world was going to be a little less fun and would have to go on without hearing his laugh again. He was a great friend from the time we were at Edgemont Elementary together. I will always miss you, my friend!

Kent, you were my best friend in high school and I loved spending time with you. I have fond memories of a summer of 81 trip out to Lake Tahoe, where I went for a wrestling camp, and you came along to provide the fun. We worked, played, and got into mischief together throughout high school. I was sad to hear of your passing, and had to take the time to come out and pay my respects. I wish I could have seen you one last time before you left, but hope to re-connect someday. your good friend, Quinn

I had the opportunity of associating with Kent and his downtown business for a little while before his death. He was always kind, pleasant and had a wonderful smile.

Kent and his family lived in my home ward in Edgemont (4th ward). We were practically next door neighbors and grew up together at school and church. My family and I, after we put it all together, were driving by his place early on the morning of his death on our way back to California. It was quite a snowy morning. Had we known a few hours earlier, we could have stayed to pay our respects. But the Werner's are lifelong friends of the Felt's and we see Jolynn from time to time. Kent, as most of you know, was hilarious, fun, and crazy all at the same time with all of those practical jokes, a few of which I was part of. I'll still never forget laughing my head off every day in our 8th grade English class while Kent would write in his journal (you may know what the subject was). But we had loads of fun on campouts and hikes, bus rides, and neighborhood games. Thanks Kent for being part of our lives and providing hours of laughs. We'll miss you.
