William Rand Wiseman 1954-2018

William Rand Wiseman was born in Provo, Ut to Richard Edward Wiseman and Marian Aldrich Wiseman on November 21, 1954. Rand passed away from complications after having a stroke on February 28, 2018.

Rand grew up in Provo and attended Provo schools and later Trade Tech (now UVU.) Soon after high school Rand went to work for General Refractories in Lehi. After a few years there and some additional education at Trade Tech he joined the family business at Wiseman Insurance Agency in Provo.

In about 1978 Rand married Donna Kathy O'Bannion. They lived in Provo, Springville, and Orem and were later divorced. Rand later married Kathe Ferre living in Provo. Together, Rand and Kathe had two children, Clark Wiseman and Khiley Wiseman Gonzales (Joey.) of St George, UT. In addition he had three step children, Brande Booth of St George, UT, Klancie Bailey of Alpine, UT, and Feather Bailey of Reno, NV.

Rand is survived by his children, grandchildren (whom he loved dearly) and his brothers, Richard (Sherrie) Wiseman of Santa Rosa, CA, Robert (Leslie) Wiseman of Orem, UT and Craig (Toni) Wiseman of Provo, UT.

From the time Rand was a small child he was always a very thoughtful and caring person. One of his favorite things was helping those in need, including any stray animals he might find. He couldn't stand to see anything or anyone suffering and this continued into adulthood where he helped many friends and acquaintances, allowing them to move in with him until they could get their feet on the ground. He never turned anyone away.

Rand loved to golf and to go fishing and camping with friends. He loved to tell stories and was usually able to "top" the last story told with something a little more grand. Rand was very much a "people person" and was well liked by all those who knew him. He left the family business in about 1995 to pursue other interests.

Rand developed addictions with drugs and alcohol that affects so many and he could never beat those demons. He suffered from many health issues as a result. Rand has lived in Provo and most recently in St George, UT to be near to his daughter Khiley and her family.

Rand is preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathe and by his son, Clark Wiseman. A gathering for friends and family will be held Tuesday March 6th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 85 East 300 South, Provo, UT.
