
Linda Kay Daughtry, 68, of Wheeler, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, in Wheeler, Texas.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Wheeler Church of Christ, with Carroll Thomason, officiating.
Cremation & Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Linda was born September 11, 1950 in Quanah, Texas to Fred Horton and Juanita Williams. She married the love of her life, Ken Daughtry, on November 25, 1977 in Wheeler County. Together they had 2 sons – KJ and Eric Daughtry. Her favorite hobby was gardening and Linda was a woman of faith and a member of the Wheeler Church of Christ, where she was in charge of organizing the family meals before funerals for more than 20 years. She also served her hometown in multiple other ways, as well. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels and also with Homemaker clubs throughout Wheeler County. She was on the Wheeler Library Board and served as a secretary there.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1 brother, Don Horton.
Survivors include her husband, Ken Daughtry, of Wheeler; 2 sons, KJ Daughtry II and wife Laura, of Wheeler, and Eric Daughtry and wife Valerie, of Shamrock; 1 brother, Thomas Horton of Quanah; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her special nephew, Thomas Fred Horton and wife Marenda, of Stephenville, Texas; several nephews, great nephews, and great nieces.
The family asks that in lieu of Flowers that donations be made to the High Plains Children’s Home.
