Joe Collier Lindsey, age 58, of Quanah, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Ama-rillo, Texas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at the First Baptist Church in Quanah, Texas with Rev. Wayne Hollinshead, pastor of the First Christian Church of Quanah, Texas, assisted by Rev. Ron Fox, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church of Quanah. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park, Quanah, Texas, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Smith Funeral Home in Quanah.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hardeman County Memorial Hospital, Quanah Livestock Show, or Quanah Riding Club.
Mr. Lindsey was born on October 21, 1950, in Quanah, Texas, son of the late Jim-mie Collier and Gretta May Horton Lindsey.
He married Vicky Fisher on July 11, 1970, in Quanah, Texas.
He was a 1969 graduate of Quanah High School. In 1973, he graduated from Tarleton State College with a B.S. Degree in General Ag. He was a rancher, member of the Alpha Zeta Ag Fraternity, past president of the Quanah Riding Club, and he served on the board of the Quanah and the Hardeman County Livestock Associations.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Lindsey of Quanah, Texas; two daughters, Jaime Mathews and husband Dennis, of Quanah, and Jenny Jo Barker and husband Nathan, of Quanah; and two grandsons, Kyle and Kason.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Eddie Nan Turlington.
