James David Powell

James David Powell, 56, of Quanah, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, in Quanah, following a lengthy ilness.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Quanah.

He was born Aug.10, 1949, in Amarillo, a son of James Powell and the late Margorie Ince Powell. He was a longtime resident of Quanah and was employed in the maintenance department of Casa Royale Inn. He was a member of a Baptist church in Washington state.

Survivors include a daughter, Misty Powell of Boyd; a son, David Lee Walsh; his father, of Quanah; a sister, Myrna Kertzer of Odin, Ill.; and three brothers, Danny Powell, Chester Powell, and Paul Powell, all of Quanah.
