School Story:
What do I remember about Quincy? I remember that when I moved to Quincy in 7th grade that Alicia Vesey was one of the first people to welcome me to the school. She really went out of her way to be kind and try to include me in different activities, (slumber parties, etc..)
I "DEFINITELY" remember some people calling me names in the halls as I walked by. Some of the names I had never heard before...
By the time I got to high school, I had begun to feel as if I "Belonged" For the most part, I knew I had a great group of friends and those that I perceived as not liking me pretty much left me alone, bar a few incidents....
A few things that stick out in my memory are:
1. My first day at Quincy Middle School
2. Dancing to the song "Thriller" in Mr. Vesey's speech class.
3. I have lots of fond memories of Mr. Walczak's English class. He always appeared so stern but he really did have a good sense of humour..(Passing notes with Tricia Gruner, LOL)
4. A pep rally in high school and me being asked to pretend that I was Rocky's trainer from the third movie...
5. Getting a Jump Rope for Heart award for the amount of pledges I received.
6. Eating at the snack bar across the street from the school.
7.Being on the track team and not receiving not ONE medal.. Came close to it, but never did.. What's wrong with that picture? LOL
8. I remember reflecting on my senior year and realizing that SOME of the same people who made fun of me when I moved to Quincy were now people who talk with me, laugh with me, hug me, invite me to do things, etc...
9. I remember going to "The Theater" downtown and eating with friends.
10. Graduation!!!!!
