As reported earlier in post #905, this is the team that represented the class of '64 at the annual North Quincy High Scholarship Fund golf tournament in June at Hyannis Golf Club.  Mickey Gillis, Tom Burns, and Don McNally.  Great turnout of North alum.

Well, here we are again -  the four amigos, Curran, Gillis, McNally and Burns,  after a stunning day of golf at the Pinehills.  We try to play golf every week if possible and we always play the last 4 holes for $5.00 a head based on a simple point system.  I'm happy to report, Don McNally FINALLY put together 4 good holes to take the cash this week!  The Pinehills is a special golf venue and this has become a very special comraderie.  We look forward to playing together for many more years!  Congratulations, Don!!

Thamks so much for all the September songs.  So much fun to hear the oldies.  A couple of the songs brought  back specific  memories and a tear in my eye!  I enjoyed each song and they sounded amazing!  What a great idea.  I've always thought it was necessary to blast September Morn as often as possible during the month!

Yes we try to remember the days of our past with the plentiful wheat that gave us the food we needed to sustain our families. Yes let us try to remember as we some how are finding ourselves short of food and so many other things that we need to sustain our families. Gas is starting to creep up again and I know people don't want to hear about it, but lets be truthful. It was our generation that had the greatest expectations even in spite of Vietnam. I suppose that this post will last about thirty minutes simply because people hate the truth. We are all together greater than any political agenda from either side of the matter. I am 77 this month and I loved growing up in N Quincy where none of us knew the term woke, we only knew of patriots.Especially given the fact that some of our class mates paid the ultimate price so we would not have to experience food shortages, cold winters and fuel we could not afford. Nothing political here...just the truth  God bless the America we all once knew! Sorry guys, I where my heart on my sleeve, speak your mind!

FYI:  You may have heard that, as of last Friday, Covid Test Kits are no longer free through the government.  They list for $21 (used to be $10) for two test kits per package.  However, Medicare does cover them in full.  Purchase them whereever there is a pharmacy:  CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and many supermarkets so you can subit your Medicare card.

I'm just curious, but are there still these ailments that used to be known as the flu, and colds?

09/14/22 07:27 AM #944

Rosemary Hayes (Earley)

Good question Jerry. Everyone I know that has those symptoms seems to have Covid. I did get a Flu shot recently though to be on the safe side!

Rosemary I have another tidbit about 9/14. On "our birthday" in 1965 F-Troop premiered on ABC, WOW!

Yesterday I turned on the evening news and low and behold to my amazement 62 years after it premiered, and on "our birthday" its still on. Sgt. O'Rourke is a little grayer and at times garbles, but none the less, he's still that same old lovable goofball.

I am sitting here today in Bradenton, Fl and I sort of have this pit in my gut. You know the kind you get when you just cant avoid a problem and you need to deal with it but you hope for the best. There are a few classmates who if they stayed will have the same issues. Hurricane Ian is going to make land fall as a cat 3 or 4 in a little while somewhere between Tampa and FT Myers  with best bet being Bradenton or Sarasota. Its like looking down the barrel of a gun, not good.  Its nice out now but the low clouds are starting to spin to the left. Well its a commin we shall see what happens, wish us well.

Sitting here in Homosassa hoping it's a tropical storm by the time it hits us. Prayers to all to be safe during this crazy hurricane.

Diane T Mulcahy (Malmgren)

Twenty-nine of our classmates live in Florida, and many snowbirds spend the winter there.  Here's hoping they "weather" the storm without damage.  Latest reports show it hitting between Sarasota and Ft. Meyers.  Thoughts and prayers all are safe.  Let us know how you make out.

Paul K. DeSchamp

Jeanne and I are in Marion County and expecting a tropical storm only.
