Martha Morene Cameron (Caylor) - Class Of 1945

 

Martha Morene Caylor, 83, of Ravenna, Texas passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the home of her son after a brief illness.

Services were held at 10:00A.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Bonham, Texas.  Rev. Morgan Malone officiated.  Burial was at Willow Wild Cemetery in Bonham. 

Mrs. Caylor was born on July 16, 1928 in Wood County, Texas in a log cabin to Milburn and Martha (Wright) Cameron.  She was the oldest of eight children.  She graduated from Quitman High School in 1945.  She married Eldridge Bruce Caylor on September 3, 1947 while they were both students at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from East Texas State University and went on to obtain her Masters Degree from SMU.

She retired early from her long-time position as a fifth grade teacher for the Bonham School System in 1989 to care for her husband, Bruce Sr.  Mr. Caylor preceded her in death on June 23. 1991.  She also was preceded in death by son, Howard Caylor on Oct. 18, 2007.  She was of the Baptist faith and a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Bonham.

Morene is survived by her son, Bruce Caylor, Jr. and wife, Sherry of Ivanhoe, TX; daughter in law, Vanessa Caylor of Ravenna, TX; grandchildren: Melissa Comba, and husband Cody of Ivanhoe, TX, Rebecca Gregory and husband, Pyne of Gruver, TX, Bruce Caylor, III and wife, Erica, of Carthage, TX, Adam Caylor and wife, Jessica, of Ivanhoe, TX, Dillion Caylor, of Ravenna, TX. and Hannah Caylor of Ravenna, TX; great grandchildren: Shelby and Rhody, Tyler, Ethan, and Garrett, Anslie, Peyton, and Leo and Piper and Adelyn. She is also survived by sisters: Paula Rushing, Alice Caylor, Louise Ramey, Gwendolyn Orsborn, and Carolyn Saxon; brothers: Neil Cameron and Gene Cameron and a large extended family.
