Funeral services for Reverend Billy Ray Ziegler, 83, Quitman, were held on Friday, June 29, at Myrtle Springs Baptist Church.  Interment was at Concord Cemetery.  He was born on November 30, 1928 in Quitman where he lived most of his life and passed away on June 27, 2012.

He was a Baptist minister, pastoring Hubbard Chapel Baptist Church for many years and a number of churches in the Baptist Missionary Association of East Texas.  He was a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ruth Ziegler.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Mike and Georgie Ziegler and Johnny and Pam Ziegler, all of Quitman; sister: Mary Selvedge, Dallas; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
