Garland was born Sept. 12, 1932 in Yantis, TX and passed away May 17, 2010 at the age of 77.  Services were held at Lowe Funeral Home in Quitman, TX on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 10 a.m. 

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Wilcox Ross: sons, Dan and Ricky Ross: daughters, Shan Carter, Tracy Morris and Lisa Schweng: brothers, Jim and Kieffer Ross: sisters, Martha Brewer, June Garmon and Anna Bradt; 11 grandchildren: and two great-grandchildren
