Freida Harris Stroud

(July 2, 1945 - May 30, 2016)

Funeral services for Freida Harris Stroud, 70, of Mineola, are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday June 2, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home with Dr. Dick White and Jesse Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Quitman City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Freida Harris Stroud was born July 2, 1945, in Quitman to Ray and Glayds Harris and passed away May 30, 2016 at her home. Freida lived in Quitman for 20 years, coming here from Fosterville, TN. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hugh B. Stroud Sr.; and brother, Arlin Ray Harris.

Survivors include four sons, Hugh B. Stroud Jr. of Kinston, NC, David P. Stroud and wife Mechas of Goldsboro, NC, Billy C. Stroud and wife Carla of LaVergne, TN, and Joe T. Stroud and wife Polly of Primm Springs, TN; two daughters, Norma Sawyer and husband Jeffrey of Grimesland, NC, and Tiffany S. Bradford of Woodbury, TN; brother, Richard Harris of Big Sandy; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Harris, Miles Miller, Steve Callison, Larry Drummond, Gene Deuson, and Rich Russo. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Worsham and Eddie Sullivan.
