Belva Jean Roberts Thornhill

Funeral services for Belva Jean Thornhill, 69, of Ocean Springs, MS, are scheduled for 1:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2016, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Pastor Pete Meakins officiating.

Belva Jean Thornhill was born March 4, 1947 in Houston to T.J. and Josephine Marie Roberts and passed away May 26, 2016 in Ocean Springs, MS. She was raised in the Pine Mills area and graduated from Quitman High School in 1965. A year later, she married James Thornhill, and the two lived in many places where he was stationed, including Madrid and Germany. Belva worked as cashier on the Air Force base for many years.

She is preceded in death by her father and husband.

Survivors include three daughters, Sherry Jessee and husband Don of Collegeville, PA, Sharon Killingsworth and husband Kraig of Biloxi, MS, and Tara Richey of Ocean Springs, MS; mother, Marie Kerry of Mineola; brother, Michael Kerry of Mineola; four sisters, Rebecca Maas of Quitman, Jacquetta Reynolds of Quitman, Charlotte Blackmon of Princeton, and Debbie Turner of Carrolton; and five grandchildren.
