Mike is survived by his daughter, Angela and her husband, Jeffery Carter of Webbers Falls, OK; son, Chad Norris of Sulphur Springs, TX; brothers, Steve and Dick; sisters, Rita and Sue; grandchildren, Stevie Ray, Violet, Vann, Cash, Roman, and Chandra (Coco) Carter of Webbers and Michael Chad Norris, Jr., of Sulphur Springs; special friends, Bobbie Taylor of Yantis, TX, Gary and Brenda Taylor of Quitman, TX.

 

Facts: Gordon B. "Mike" Norris, Gore, OK, passed away August 3, 2013. Mike was born in Dawson County, TX, on September 9, 1952 to Richard and Norma Anderson Norris. He spent his childhood in Louisiana, moving to Quitman, TX, when he was a teenager. He graduated from Quitman High School in 1971. Mike played basketball when he was in high school and participated in Golden Gloves Boxing. He worked as an offshore crane operator in the Gulf of Mexico for several years. He moved to Gore, OK, in 1994 and went to work as manager of Gore True Value in 2000. Mike loved to fish and cook. He was well-known for his delicious gumbo and other Cajun dishes.
