FOOTE, ROBERT T. Passed away March 12, in Travelers Rest, S.C. Robert was born January 20, 1926, and grew up in Peters-burg, Texas. He was the last surviving sibling of a family of four brothers and a sister. Robert joined the Naval Air Corps duringWorld War II, and served as communi-cation officer aboard the U.S.S. Winston in Korea. A career teacher and football coach, Robert guided L.V. Stockard to four Dallas city championships in the 1960s. He was married to Nancy Stewart for 36 years and had two children, daughter Cydney and son Kelly. In 1999, Robert retired to South Carolina, where he made dear friends, involved himself with Cross Plains Baptist Church, and doted on his only grandchild Zachary. Memorial donations may be sent in his name to Cancer Society of Greenville County.
