I remember Mrs. Frost from the 6th grade in 1953.  She would read "Little House on the Prairie" to us each Thursday and I loved that day.  We never thought about misbehaving on that day or any other day in her class.

How Mrs. Frost made us so attentive is beyond me.  She had to be very good to hold the attention of a thirtteen year old boy for 45 minutes.

Bonnie Neel Frost, 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at her home in Quitman.  She was born on April 22, 1917, in Timpson.  Bonnie attended Stephen F. Austin State Teachers College and earned her bachelor's degree in education.  She married James "Jack" B. Frost on October 31, 1941, in Nacogdoches.  She originally taught school for a brief time after she was married, in Tenneha and Joaquin.  Bonnie and Jack moved to Quitman at the end of 1948, where she taught school, primarily fifth, grade for 33 years.  Her love of teaching helped many students in the Quitman school district, who still talk about her fondly to this day.

Bonnie was a member of The First United Methodist Church.  She had two daughters, Patricia Fuller and Brenda Taylor and son-in-law Gary Taylor, 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

This information was taken from Bonnie's obituary that was in the Tyler newspaper.
