W. C. "Dub" Jackson, Jr. - Class Of 1936 VIEW PROFILE

W. C. (Dub) Jackson, Jr., left this life on June 30, 2012.  A lifetime resident of Quitman, Dub was born on January 28, 1920, and lived a full and happy life until his death at age 92. 

Dub honorably served in the U. S. Air Force as a staff sergeant, enlisting shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor.  After the war ended, Dub returned to Quitman where he went to work for his father at the Jackson Motor Company.  After his father's death in 1973, Dub purchased the business and headed it until his retirement in 1988.

Throughout his years in Quitman, Dub was involved in a wide range of activities, often in leadership positions.  Among those organizations were the Quitman Chamber of Commerce, Quitman School Board, Quitman Rotary Club (61 years) and the Masons.  A lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman, Dub served his church in many capacities: as a Sunday school teacher, superintendent of Sunday schools, member and leader of various church committees and as a deacon for 61 years.

Dad was a life long resident of Quitman. He married Willie "Bill" Jackson in 1945. WC worked for his father, WC Jackson,Sr at Jackson Motor Company. When "Mr. Willie" retired, WC "Dub" took over the dealership. He was a life long member of First Baptist Church, where he served in many leadership roles. He loved the Lord and was always a faithful servant. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, dad and granddad. He is missed by all his family, but he left a legacy that will live on in each life he touched.
