My name is Shane Harris Brooks. I am a 1990 graduate of Quitman High School. I am also the youngest daughter of Sharon Lynn Whatley Harris. I have many memories of my mom. She passed away June 9, 1988. I was only sixteen years old at the time of my mom's death. My sister Shawn was 19. I remember this was a very difficult time for all of us. I miss her so much. My mom was a very kind, loving woman. I don't remember ever hearing her raise her voice and I do remember that she had a great love for animals. Many people tell me that I look just like my mom. I think this is so great. I have been married to Jeff Brooks (1989 QHS Grad) for the past 14 years and we have two children. Blake (son) was born July 29, 1999 and Brett our daughter was born November 26, 2001. My sister Shawn is also happily married and has two chidren. Tabitha is a beautiful young lady of 22 years and JR is a very handsome 20 year old. My mom would have been so proud of her grandchildren. I always tell my kids about my mom. Even though they have never met her I want them to know that she would have loved them very much. These are my thoughts and memories of my mom. I hope that any of you who read this will have good memories of her too. She was a wonderful woman and I miss her everyday.
