Memorial services for thomas(Tom) Daniel Cates will be held at 10:00 a.m. on October 25, 2014 at Forest Hill Baptist Church located at 1880 Texas 37, Quitman, Texas 75783 with Brother Fred Marrow officiating.  Mr. Cates passed away on September 22, 2014.  He was born in Jefferson, Texas on December 18, 1940 to the late Albert Andrew Cates and Dessa La Delle Frost Cates.  He moved to Quitman, Texas with his family while young and graduated from Quitman High School in 1959.

Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Cates-Ivaschenko, her husband Pavel and their son, Andrei, Houston; his daughter, Cristy Cates, Austin; and his brother, Charles Andrew Cates, Dumfries, VA.
