Lois Faye (Dopson) Jones passed away on December 9, 2023 at her home in Quitman, Texas.

She was born on September 4, 1953 in Quitman, Texas to J.D. and Alta Mae (Harbin) Dopson. Lois married Jimmy Jones in Quitman at Liberty Methodist Church.  Lois was a Christian serving God and family. Lois was a hard worker, working jobs at Dairy Queen and The Heritage Nursing Home. She loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children, spending many hours playing games and sharing things with them. Every gift she gave had thought and reasoning behind it. She never let life get her down. She would always greet you with a hug and share past stories of your experiences together, whether it be the nickname she gave you because your eye lashes were long when you were a baby, or something that happened when she changed your diaper.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy in April 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Dopson; sister, Frances Pinson; sister and brother in law, Linda and Roger Woods; and nephews, Jared Albert Dopson and James Christopher Woods.

Lois’s surviving family members are sister in law, Deborah Dopson of Quitman; brother in law, Gary Pinson of Quitman; nephew, Dr. James Dopson and wife Rachel, of Quitman; niece, Terri Boyd and husband Ernest of Hawkins; niece, Jennifer Valdovinos and husband Adolfo of Sulphur Springs; nephew, Josh Pinson and wife Jamie of Alamogordo, New Mexico; nephew, Robert Woods and wife Marla of Greenville; and 11 great nieces and nephews.

Lois will be buried next to her Loving Husband Jimmy at Concord Cemetery near Quitman, Texas.

Graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Concord Cemetery.
