I'm amazed that you haven't gotten more of a response from people. I even tried to look some people up in the Alumni directory I got a couple years back. Except, that seems to be very incomplete. Any thought of putting a big announcement in the Racine Journal Times ( and maybe a couple other newspapers)? I know I'd be willing to pitch in on the cost.

I already emailed Greg Spalla in Seymour Indiana and I see he created his profile.

Hope these help you!

Wow, it's so amazing to be getting back in touch with you guys -- I have been so remote so long. I have sinned most against Lois Sorensen -- Lois if you can forgive me, I'd love to hear more about your son and hubby. Thank you so much Carol for setting this up -- I am seriously thinking of attending.

Thank you for putting this together and allowing the rest of us to use it to contact our former friends and classmates. What a great idea. I have been wondering where some of my past friends have been and you have put this together. As we age we find that reconnecting with our youth is a good thing. God bless you and your family.

Friends from Class of '78:
Good news. Our fellow alumnus, Jim Madsen has been selected for the Washington Park High School Hall of Fame and will be inducted at the Park graduation ceremony on Sunday June 7th. Please spread the word.
(Jim is now a professor of physics at the University of Wisconsin River Falls.)

How many of you, who have kids who've attended Park, been surprised by the teachers that are still there? When my oldest was a sophomore, I went in to talk to her counselor, and to my surprise, there was Ms. Kirsch, former gym teacher (at McKinley and Park) there as acting Blue School principal. It was probably my imagination, but she looked at me kind of funny, like maybe she had a vague memory of me. Mr. Zellmer (physics) and Mr. Fenderson (math) were also still there. Thankfully, they seemed to age, just like I have. I think they're all retired now. None of the current teacher names jump out at me.

I see that Mike Kothe is on staff with the security department at WPHS. I do believe he was our class president. Carol, I can't believe he didn't offer to help you.

He hasn't yet registered on the site. He should be aware of it since Glen Schulz has been working with me on the reunion and he teaches at WPHS too. I'll have Glen submit a notice to the school to invite teachers and request assistance in finding former classmates.

I contacted Glen and he said Mike wasn't interested. I hope he doesn't feel he would be judged for his position in life. This isn't what this site is for. We all had many memories from school and we made lots of friends. Now we're looking forward to reacquainting with former friends and making new ones. Our class size was so large, that there were many people we never even knew through our school years. We all have one thing in common - WPHS 1978. We lived through the same times and the same teachers. Now it will be fun to meet again and make new friends and new memories! The best part is reliving the "stupid" parts of being teenagers!

Carol,
What a wonderful thing you did by bringing us together. I had a wonderful time connecting with long lost classmates. I hope we can do it again. If you ever think about bringing us together again, call me and I will help contact people.
Thank you again for all your hard work in organizing the event and creating such a "cool" website!

There were a lot of other camera's there that day, let's see some more pix!!

Again, thanks Carol.

I have started a facebook page for WPHS 1978 or Racine, WI in hopes to help cut cost on memberships of web sites along with keeping touch with classmates. It is listed under Groups with the title WPHS 1978 of Racine, WI and you can contact me otherwise at wphs1978@aim.com. Let try and see what kind of reunion we can pull together for 2013 as our 35th. It is a lot of planning and wanting to contact as many of our classmates as possible, so spread the word. Carol did a wonderful job in the time span she had to getting some together. Debbie Dunai

Happy New Year to all of my classmates. I want to let you all know that I am running for Judge. I will be on the ballot in all of Racine County on April 6, 2010. Please get out and vote for me on April 6, 2010. Please view my website at georgiaherrera.com to learn more about my qualifications for Judge. I will simply emphasize that I have now practiced law for 25 years and I have been a court commissioner for 11 of those years. I go into court weekly and hear cases weekly and make decisions just like a Judge would do. I handle lots of different types of cases, with a focus on family matters.

I also spent 11 years in the Racine County District Attorneys office, working as a criminal prosecutor.

Please get out and vote for me on April 6, 2010. I want to have a large voter turnout from my supporters because Spring elections are notoriously low voter turnouts. Vote and urge 20 of your friends, family and co-workers to vote as well.

Happy New Year and Happy Birthday to all of you that are turning 50 in the New Year along with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is Good! Georgia Herrera Candidate for Circuit Court Branch 2, Racine County.
