Comments:

I drove Trailways & Greyhound buses for 28 yrs. thru 38 states and 2 provinces, from border to border and coast to coast. Marriage not being an option due to being on the road most weekends and holidays. One year I had thanksgiving dinner out of a vending machine at the Cleveland garage because even the nearest White Castle was closed. I had home terminals in Chicago for 25 yrs. and New york for 3. My favorite runs were overnites from Chicago to Memphis and New york to Montreal. I've been living in a Catholic senior retirement home with two chapels, open 24hrs. Each day, for the last two yrs. and loving it; especially the food. We have over 200 residents, mostly Italian, therefore a heavely Italian menu and kitchen crew from the old country. I've also spent about 20 yrs. at the Illinois Railway Museum trying to maintain an 87 yr. old North Western caboose (with a cupola) from our severe midwestern climate.

School Story:

My fondest memories of St. Catherine's were of the entire student body, all of the nuns and priests, especially Msgr. Witkowiak.

If you served in the US Military, tell us something about your branch of service, designation, areas of deployment, and year of discharge.

I was an E-5 Veterinary food inspection specialist for two yrs. Serving stateside for the Defense Personnel Support Center. I drew quarters and subsistance for 18 mon. And lived in a hotel for most of that time. This all came about after flunking out of helicopter flight training in Ft. Walters Tx. Discharged 2/2/71.

What teacher, priest, or coach was the most influential on your educational development during your years at SCHS - whether you graduated or transferred to another school:

Sr. Coronatta, I had her for 8th grade at St. Edward's, plus homeroom, speech class and then calculus at Dominican College.

What is your favorite activity currently? Travel, sports, golfing, gardening, fishing, etc.

I drove my '08 Prius 5,200 mi. Thruout 15 of the south eastern and mid-atlantic states in 35 days last spring, stopping in Key West, Miami, NYC. and Irondale Al. Visiting family and friends. The trip was a resounding success and I'm anxious to repeat it again in 2014. I also enjoy gardening and hanging with my pals here at the home. And I enjoy sponsoring people in a 12-step fellowship.

What is the farthest country in the world that you have traveled to:

Canada, ha! ha! ha!

If you could recommend ONE, country to visit, cruise to take, or vacation spot to visit - what would it be?

NYC., because as Elizabeth Taylor used to say on the "I LOVE NY" commercials in the early '80's, "It makes my heart beat faster."

What USA historic site meant the most to you when you visited:

Lincoln Memorial.
