I joined the Army two months after graduation and spent nine years there. I had a baby while I was there. Now, I proudly serve veterans like myself on my job at the VA Hospital in Durham.

I am also a published author. I recently released my first novel, "...and then I woke up." as well as launched my own publishing company, Drama Queen Publications. I am also a poet and spoke word author and I perform locally.

I didn't get to Athens until my junior year, so I don't have as many memories as others since your bonds are probably closer than any or mine. But I remember feeling right at home from the moment I got to school. Everyone was cool and friendly from the beginning and I will always love Athens for taking me in as one of their own.
