Michael Shrum (March 25, 1957 - May 13, 2011)

Mike was born in Winston-Salem, NC, and lived for many years in the community of Brentwood in Raleigh, NC. He attended Millbrook High School but during his senior year his family moved to Atlanta, GA. Mr. Michael L. Shrum, age 54 of Oxford, GA, died Friday, May 13, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, G. Lloyd Shrum. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Shrum; daughter, Michelle Shrum; grandson, Devin Armstead; mother, Elsie M. Shrum; aunts and uncles. Mr. Shrum was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World. He graduated from Rockdale High School, GA in 1975 and was a volunteer firefighter with Newton County. Funeral services were held Monday, May 16, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Conyers First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Beyers and Rev. Dan Brokaw officiating; interment followed at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
