Wife -- Polly From Oxford N C and we met at East Carolina College where she graduated in 1964. We are very happy and will celebrate 46 years of marriage Aug 14. 2011.
We have two daughters - Debbie and Pam. Debbie is married to Ron Lindsay and they have two sons Connor and Jake, ages 10 and 6. Pam is not married and has no children. Both of our daughters are very much into sports.
I spent two years at East Carolina majoring in business before leaving and joining the Marine Corp Reserve. I am very proud of this and rose to the rank of Sergeant ( E-5 ) One of the few mistakes I feel I have made in my life was leaving the Marine Reserves.
I worked in Sales and Management most of my life for the family business - Grimes Supply Co. which later I sold to
Keyston Bros based out of Calif. We were the largest wholesale distributor of vinyl's and fabrics in the world. Keyston Bros was a employee-owned company and I worked there for about 20 years and retired as manager of the Raleigh Branch.
Polly, Pam and I play a lot of golf. Debbie is mainly into running, biking, and swimming. . We all enjoy the beaches and mountains, Pam and I snow ski in the winter and play golf in the summer.
Life goes past us way too fast !!!! I dont think I would change anything in my life assuming that I could. I have made some mistakes but overall I have had a good life and hope I can continue to enjoy golf and remain in reasonably good health.
I did join a social club ( The Elites ) in school and have lots of good memories of parties and events that we did as a club. My worst memory is being asked to leave my spanish class and report to Mr. Holiday or Mr. Butler because I was talking too much. I almost got a few days of vacation for this infraction. I think my favorite teacher was Mrs. Burton, my 12th grade English teacher, as she got me interested in going to college and helping me grow up.
