Two tours in Viet Nam (one year in-country, 10 months on a destroyer)left quite a mark. I struggled to find focus for several years.

Relying on a strong background in electronics, I worked for a Japanese company (Ricoh) for 10 years during which I traveled extensively, before moving on to Diebold Inc. While with Diebold, I traveled throughout the US, Canada, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Through the years I have traveled to 31 countries globally. I've been riding motorcycles since the 60s. Since retiring I've ridden through all 49 States in North America and all the provinces of Canada. I've camped in over 50 of our national parks, hiked most of the Appalachian trail, been a scuba diver for the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, run the New York marathon, camped in Furnace Creek Death Valley, and fished in the fjords of Norway. Life has been better to me than I deserve. When it's over, I'll have no regrets. It's been a hell of a ride.....

After living for many years in Canton, Ohio, I recently moved back to Carolina. I now live on a quiet country road about 10 miles from Winston Salem.

My favorite teacher was also the scariest teacher I ever had....... Herr Watts. I did poorly in his class but when I went to college and made good grades, I would stop by to share them with him. The scary German teacher turned out to be one of the most gracious people I ever met. I wanted him to know how he had inspired me.
