I graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Urban and regional Planning. Prior to finishing at the University, I spent two years in the US Army as a tank driver and served in Mainz, Germany. In college, I joined Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity and became a cheerleader and the Pirate mascot. Yes - I have been on the goal post at Carter-Finley Stadium!
I married in 1978 and divorced in 1996 having two children. Clark is now in Law School at Wake Forest and will graduate this year and Mollie is getting ready to graduate this year from High School. Her graduation will be siugnificant since she has Down Syndrome.
In 1977 I began working for two local governments on the coast and then began working for the City of Raleigh Planning Dept. as a long range city planner and as a Transportation planner. After 31 years, I retired from the City and moved to the best place in North Carolina, Greenville, NC. In 1999 I met my love Brenda and we live in Greater groovier Greenville. We are engaged and will be married in June 2011.
I am enjoying retirement and exercise every day. Brenda and I are avid beach music shaggers, belong to the Eastern NC Shag Club and we love to go to OD and listen to beach music. I am a member of the Kiwanis club and am one of the lead guys in charge of our huge Peanut, pecan and pecan logs we distribute in stores throughout eastern NC. We are members of St. James United Methodist Church.
