Henry will always be remembered as the guy who treated everyone in the same way. We all loved Henry and I cannot believe we have lost such a great guy and classmate. Gay Butler Murphy

I had not seen Henry since we graduated, but I have great memories of him from classes we had together.  Glad I had the opportunity to know him.  Deborah Tuck Harris

Henry and I grew up in the same neighborhood.  I lived near the corner of Scales and West Aycock and he lived on the corner of Harvey and Scales.  Along with his older brother, Tommy, Kendall Tant and all the Schell kids (Patrick, Margaret, Johnny and Sabra), we almost always ended up in the Schell family's yard on Scales.  We went all six years of elementary school together (Myrtle Underwood) and Henry was always one of the nicest, most genuine kids I ever knew.  When "squabbles" would break out in the heat of a kickball or baseball game, he was always a peacemaker.

In 1965, I broke my arm playing tackle football in the Schells' yard.  I had been trying to tackle Henry, when I tripped.  I never touched him.  He was the first one to me to help me up.  I will never forget that.

Henry moved from our neighbohood and I didn't attend Daniels, so I really didn't see him after sixth grade.  We reconnected somewhat at Broughton, but by then dynamics had changed a great deal.  Except Henry was the same nice guy.  Always a smile and a hello when we passed in the hallway.  One of the good guys.

From what I read about him after his death, that never changed.  Rest In Peace, Henry.

I had a crush on Henry Hicks and Kendall Tant all through elementary school !  ( True

confessions of an "old" lady ) I only kept up with Henry through the years at Daniels and Broughton

But i'm sure he remained the same throughout his life ! He was kind, thoughtful, honest and humble.

What finer qualities could anyone possess ?  I believe very deeply in the Resurrection (John 5:28), so I look forward to seeing Henry again.

I am just now catching up on all the news. Through the many changes that life brings, I sadly did not see Henry after our school years. His family would be proud to know that so many people keep his memories alive. Henry was a person of fine character and kind ways. God bless.
