Oddly, I was just thinking about Fenner and a time in Mr. Vick's economic's class.....we (the class) were investing in two stocks as a project--a gold mining company in the Philippines and Hardees.....As I offered a ten dollar bill, Fenner playfully started calling me J.P. Getty, a name he stuck on me the remainder of the year.....I was in several of his classes.....He was "always" cheerful and gave us all a lift......

Way too young Fenner, but I hear you fought bravely......

Fenner and I would always try to find the advantages of being at the end of every alphabetized gathering. May he rest in peace.

I am so glad I got to speak with Fenner a few years ago. He was not strong physically, but still had a bright smile, interest in exploring history, and kind memories of Broughton. Will never forget his humor and energy.

Allways sad to hear about a classmate's passing--much too young. RIP.

Brenda Wilson Abernethy: I was so sorry to read the Broughton'68 in memory today about the death of Fenner Urquhart. I went online to find his obituary. I learned he had been living in Washington, DD and doing so many humanitarian projects.
I remember Fenner from Our Broughton years. He was such a terrific guy & such a good friend to all.
I send my sympathy to all his relatives and other friends.

I often thought about Fenner on Sundays as I make my way to church...My route takes me pass the home he grew up in. I remember him as a cute fellow with an infectious personality.

I will always remember Fenner as an exceptionally bright, happy person, always smiling. So sorry to hear of his passing at such a young age.

Fenner, we would laff about our European names and how mispronounced they became. We also laffed about being natural blondes. Well, lad, a shame we won't laff face to face at our 50th, but I'll think of you. Bis dan.

Fenner was the best in high school. He was so funny, smart, classy and well-dressed. We were good friends. I am sorry he had to leave this world so soon.
