Jeffrey Dale Drake, Sr. 1973 - 2009 Kern River Family Mortuary Jeffrey Dale Drake, Sr., 36 years old, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2009, at San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield. Jeff was born on March 20, 1973 in Lodi, California to Dale and Gail Ruth Backman Drake. He graduated from high school in Ramona, California in 1991. He married the love of his life, Andrea Dyan Barr, on January 16, 1993. The Drake family moved to Bakersfield in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Barr Drake, his 3 children, Brendon (18), Rebekah (14) and Jeffrey Jr. (2). Also surviving are his mother, Gail Drake of Ramona, his sister Tammy Drake and his nieces, Ashley, Elise, Chelsea, and his great-niece Kaya, of Big Bear, CA. Jeff had friends who loved him all over the world! He was preceded in death by his father, Dale, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Jeff was a roofer by trade, but for the last several years, his job was being a full time daddy. Jeff LIVED his life. He loved his precious family and enjoyed vacations in Oahu. Services will be held at the First Christian Church at 1660 "S" Street in Bakersfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is established for Jeff's children. Donations made out to Andrea Drake may be dropped off at any Kern Schools FCU branch or mailed to Kern Schools FCU, PO Box 9506, Bakersfield, CA 93389- 9506. Burial will be in July 2009 in Waynesville, IL.
