Don't know if any of you remember me. I used to have super long hair in a braid all through Elementary because it was supposed to be for my 15th Bday party, but with 10 aunts & uncles on my mom's side and 14 on my dad's side it was so expensive that they gave me Ford Mustang instead! So the first thing I did was cut my hair like the girl in Roxette. YEAH! Anyway after 5th grade in Ramona, my family moved to Guadalajara - Mexico. Graduated as a CPA from the University and Started my Masters in Business back in Rockford IL. Worked for Danfoss - Met my husband there and in 2001 we got married had a private audience with the Pope (John Paul II) and moved to his hometown Stuttgart, Germany. I worked there for Reader's Digest until our son was born. You get a 3 year maternity leave so we used the time for him to take an assignment from his job abroad. (He's and Engineer for Bosch).
Now we've lived the past 3 years in Japan and recently they relocated us to China. We live 40 min from Shanghai and even though I've been here for 8 months I'm loving it!! Since I couldn't get pregnant again and we didn't want to move back to Europe because of the economy. I had to quit my job and now I'm officially a stay at home mom. Although I'm never home! My son goes to an international school from 9 to 4 and I mostly go out and do all the expat activities: sightseeing -shopping -lunches- pottery making etc. I am on Facebook so if you'd like to keep in touch or see what I do -look me up.
The company provides us with schooling, rent, a driver and in our case a cleaning woman. So you could say "I'm livin' the dream"
I hope to go back and visit Ramona someday. I always think about the place where I grew up & the kids I went to school with. . .
