Here is an interesting tidbit of information:
The Class of '58 - 8th Grade Prophecy
I wonder who wrote this?!!!!
"I am here to tell you what these students are to be 20 years from now. (That would have been in 1974. Hmmmm?) If it seems as if I move quickly from one place to another in my prophecy, its because my vision changes suddenly.
Well, well, what have we hare? I see Jan and Lorenz will be sitting in their living room enjoying a very good book. They will be reading a love story called "the Satin Slipper" which is to be written by Carol who will be a famous writer.
And now I see Francis, who is going to be an artist, drawing a picture of her very dear friend Dorrine. Ray will be sitting in the corner showering admiring looks upon the two girls.
Marilyn will be helping Gary pull all of Judy's teeth. Marilyn will have finally finished her dental study.
Joy will be up in the clouds serving the pilot, Jack, his lunch on a huge airliner. I hope neither of them get airsick.
Diane will be a Sergeant in the Army. She will be drilling some new recruits. I hope she won't be too hard on them.
Gladys will be sitting on top of the world as an old maid in the "old Maid's Estate" owned by Brick.
Donnie will be a mechanic in a large garage. He will have just cleaned a car. He will have his hands and face covered with black grease.
Norman will have just hit his finger a hard smack with a hammer. He will be a great house builder.
If you hear someone doing a lot of talking its Wayne. He will finally become a radio announcer. It will just suit the purpose. Then he can talk all he wants without bothering anyone.
Ronald will be pushing a broom down the streets of New York. Carts will be all the rage so he won't have to carry a box.
In this room will be several girls that will be baiting their hooks, not for fish -- but for men.
I see by looking in a beauty salon window that Ruthie will be having her beautiful; brown hair done up by Wanda who will be head of the salon.
On a table will lay Kathy who must have a serious operation. She will be operated on by none other than Margie. I sure hope Kathy will live.
My, Maxine N. certainly will go a long way. She will be a private secretary. That lucky kid will get to sit on her bosses' lap.
Her boss shall be that very good looking Ronnie. He will be the top man of the Coca-Cola company.
Boy will that girl ever be getting along. Her name is Dorothy. She will be head waitress at a swanky cafe.
Just tune in your radio and you'll hear Maxine W. She will win fame as a great singer. That girl will get rick quick.
Be sure and send your children to Betty's class. She will teach them everything and I do mean everything. Use your imagination on that one.
You will see the model Jane walking out of the Ladson Model Co. Her photographer will be Eugen who certainly will like his job.
Sharon will have a store of her own. She hopes that she won't go broke.
There will be Ed feeding chickens as usual. Only now he will own his own chicken farm.
If you go to certain places you'll hear a band led by John. Everyone will go crazy over his playing.
Pat will be the telephone operator for a large business firm. Maybe if she is nice to the boss he'll give her a raise.
In case your (sic) in need of a plummer, just call Donald. He's to be a master plummer.
Joan is sure to be a technician, you know, testing different medicines on animals. I hope you'll like it, Joan.
Mrs. Kernkamp will still be teaching at the new school at Rathdrum. I hope she doesn't have a group like she had in '54.
Now as I told you before, this is all to be in 20 years. So if these students don't end up like I have prophesied I can't say as I blame them.
(Addition) Connie Schmidt will be working in the Sacred Heart Hospital, a head nursee. I hope she takes good care of her patients."
Thus endeth the Prophecy for the Class of '58 in 1954.
