Allysia Hood Matthews

I moved half-way through high school to Houston, Texas. After that, I went to college at The University of Texas at Austin, where I got my BS in Biochemistry. Near the end of college I studied abroad in Sweden, which is where I met Chris (he is British). We got married in July 2004. After college I worked in a lab in Austin for a few years, and then applied for graduate school. Chris and I decided it would be a great opportunity to live on the east coast, so I accepted an offer from Cornell Medical College in New York city (Manhattan). We are really enjoying it here and getting used to life as upper east siders. I am now in my third year of graduate school, and should hopefully be done in a few years. Then, who knows where we will end up. :-)
