Funeral services for Mary Ann Rogers, 75, of Reliance, SD will be 10:00 am Thursday, February 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reliance with burial in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Reliance, SD. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 5:00 pm with a rosary/scripture service at 7:00 pm at St. Mary' Catholic Church in Reliance.
Mary Ann was born November 6, 1939 at Breda, IA to Henry and Katherine "Katie" (Thelen) Stallman. She grew up on a farm near Reliance and graduated from Reliance High School. After graduation, she went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Chamberlain as an operator. She retired from the Telephone Company in 1963 when the company "went dial".
She met and married Charles Rogers in 1958. Mary Ann worked for the Lyman School District as a school bus driver for 19 years and as a Teacher's Aide for four years. She loved doing crafts and attending craft shows.
Mary Ann Rogers earned her angel wings on February 21, 2015 surrounded by her family. Mary Ann passed away at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 75 years. Gratefully sharing her life are her husband Charles Rogers of Reliance; eight daughters Kaylene and Norman Kuhl of Salem, SD, Mary Lee Lawson of Plankinton, SD, Kathy and Merle Aske of Aberdeen, SD, Carol and Chuck Chernotik of Mitchell, SD, Linda and Dave Grooters of Lake Benton, MN, Terri and Mike Thompson of Newburg, ND, Kari and Reed Anderson of Sioux Falls, SD, and Stephanie Rogers of Reliance, SD; daughter-in-law Cindy Rogers of Chamberlain; 27 grandchildren; 17 plus great grandchildren; brother Bill Stallman and wife Linda of Chamberlain; and three sisters Maxine Warnke of Plankinton, SD; Myrna Swanson and husband Paul of Chamberlain, and Margie Stellwag of Bismarck, ND; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, her son Rick, two grandsons Jason Rogers and Alex Lawson; a great granddaughter Chelsie Kuhl.
