Glenn Frame 1936/2010
MISSOULA – Glenn Frame, 73, of Missoula, was called home by the Lord for eternal peace and rest on Saturday, April 10, 2010. Glenn passed away peacefully at his home in Missoula, with wife Judy by his side.
Glenn was born to David and Mary Frame in Lincoln, Neb., on Sept. 11, 1936. He was the oldest of four children, and grew up on the prairies at Reliance, S.D., where his parents bred and raised thoroughbred racehorses and Hereford cattle. Glenn enjoyed breaking the race colts for his dad, and enjoyed horses throughout his life.
After graduating from high school in Reliance, Glenn held a variety of odd jobs; working as a farm hand, a construction worker, and driving cattle trucks all over the Dakota prairies.
On May 25, 1956, Glenn married wife Judy Weiczorek and from that union came two sons, Wade and Boyd.
Glenn and Judy moved the family from South Dakota to Missoula. Glenn drove chip trucks for Missoula Cartage from 1964 to 1968. He also attended the Montana Highway Patrol Training Academy, graduating in October 1967.
In 1969, the family moved to Ronan, where Glenn joined the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, becoming a sheriff’s deputy under Sheriff Bill Phillips. Glenn became an active member of the Sheriff and Peace Officers Association. In 1974, he was honored by the association as Deputy of the Year. As president of the organization, he brought the Crimestoppers program to the state of Montana. He was the president of the Lake County Crime Stoppers Board until he resigned in 2008. In October 1974, he was appointed under sheriff of Lake County, and in January 1978, he was appointed to the position of sheriff.
Glenn was re-elected two terms to the position of sheriff by the people of Lake County. In May 1986, he resigned the position due to health issues. After retirement from the sheriff’s office, he continued to serve as the local brand inspector. Glenn was appointed Ronan city judge, and served the town of Ronan from October 1995, until his resignation in June 2009.
Glenn and Judy raised llamas and miniature donkeys on their Flying Diamond llama ranch in Ronan. The two traveled the Intermountain West showing llamas. Glenn enjoyed the travel and would always know or recognize someone, he never knew a stranger.
Glenn enjoyed his seven grandchildren more than anything in the world. He proudly attended rodeo queen pageants, horse shows, football games, basketball games, school plays, rodeos and graduations.
He is preceded in death by his father David Frame; infant son Gregory; and brother Duane Frame.
Glenn is survived by his wife Judy Frame of 53 years; mother Mary Frame of South Dakota; brother Ronald (Janet) Frame of South Dakota; sister Jean (Chick) Hoehn of New Jersey; eldest son Wade (Marilyn) Frame of Polson; and youngest son Boyd (Shelley) Frame of Charlo. Seven grandchildren include; Marete and Monika Frame, Shantell, Tyrell, Chance, Levi and Skyler Frame; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for family and close friends will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, at Sunset Memorial Garden in Missoula. Immediately following the services, a celebration of life will be held at the family home, 13900 Harper’s Bridge Road, Missoula.
