Jerome R. Bukacek  1934-1997

Mass of Christian Burial for Jerome R. Bukacek, 62, Reliance, was celebrated Monday, June 23, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reliance with Fathers Yvon Sheehy, SCJ, Jim Walters, SCJ, and Richard Baumberger, celebrants.  Mr. Bukacek passed away Friday, June 20, 1997, at Mid Dakota Hospital, Chamberlain.

Jerome Richard Bukacek was born September 10, 1934, to James and Amalia 'Mollie' (Schindler) Bukacek.  He attended school at Reliance, graduating in 1952.  He attended the University of South Dakota, Vermillion.  After college he returned to Reliance and began farming.

Jerome married Connie Bartscher August 12, 1967, at Farmer.  They continued to farm until the time of his passing.

He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Reliance and served on the township board.

Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Mollie Bukacek, Chamberlain; wife Connie at Reliance; son Ben of Mankato, Minnesota; daughter Becky of Reliance; brother, Francis of Greenville, South Carolina, two sisters: Rose Elaine Anderson, Spearfish, and Diane Bindenagel, Conde, and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.

Burial was at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Reliance.

Wevik Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
