
JoAnne King Fletcher 1932-1998
Funeral Mass for JoAnne Fletcher, 65, Reliance, will be celebrated at 10AM Thursday, January 29th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Reliance, with Father Yvon Sheehy, SJC, celebrant. Scripture service was held at 8pm, Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation was held 9AM to 6PM Wednesday at Wevik Funeral Chapel, Chamberlain. Mrs. Fletcher passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 1998 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.
JoAnne King was born October 21, 1932 in Mitchell to Joseph and Emily (LaBrache) King. She attended grade school and graduated High School at Reliance in 1950.
December 9, 1950, JoAnne married Donald Fletcher at Reliance. They farmed and she lived on the farm the rest of her life. She stayed busy helping out at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, was Chairman to the Altar Society, and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was involved in the making of the stained glass windows for the church. She was a 4H leader for years, loved to read and work on crafts.
Thankful for having shared her life, are her husband at home, three sons: Fred and his wife Cynthia, Saugus, California, Keith and his wife Barbara, Helena, Montana, and Tim and his wife Denise, Fargo, North Dakota, daughter Nancy and her husband, Craig Anderson, Merrill, Iowa; brother Donald King and wife Mildred, Mitchell, and five grandchildren.
JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents.
