Mass of Christian Burial for Paul Joseph Burke, 57, was held at 10am, Tuesday, October 14, 1986, in the Fort Meade Chapel with Chaplain Father Frank Vallo officiating and rosary services at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel at 7pm, October 13th.
Burial with military honors was in the Black Hills Cemetery.
Mr. Burke died at Rapid City Regional Hospital on October 10th.
He was born at Hamill on July 1, 1929, to Clara and John Burke. He grew up and attended school at Reliance, graduating from Reliance High School.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict and was married to Mary Murphy at Reliance on January 18, 1956. The couple lived in various places as he worked road construction, but moved to Whitewood in 1962 and has since made that home.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors besides his wife, include four sons: Monty of Cody, Wyoming; Maurice of Anaheim, California; Mark of Deadwood and Shaun of Ft. Deven, Massachusetts; four daughters:
