 Elsie Albert Fletcher  1907-1974

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Roy (Elsie Albert) Fletcher, 66, at 2pm from the United Methodist Church in Reliance with the Reverend David Mack officiating.  Burial was in the Reliance Cemetery.  Mrs. Fletcher died at her home east of Reliance.

Elsie Marie Albert Fletcher was born at Oacoma March 1, 1907 to Mr and Mrs George Monroe Albert.

She attended High School at Oacoma and Gann Valley, before graduating from Reliance.

She was married to Roy Fletcher  June 29, 1925 at Reliance. When she lost the use of her left hand and had to give up her hobby of embroidering, she took painting in Adult Education courses in Chamberlain and in recent years, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher had expanded their hobbies of painting and ceramics into a business.

Surviving relatives in addition to Mr. Fletcher, include their three sons: Donald of Reliance, Roger of Sioux Falls and Douglas  of Manor, PA.; two daughters: Mrs. Merrill Kahlen of Reliance and Mrs. Carol Anderson, Chamberlain;  four sisters: Mrs. Anna Berlman of Corvallis, Oregon, Mrs. Francis (Lyra) Hoden of Rapid City; Mrs. Charles (Stella) Hodgin of Oacoma, and Mrs. Georgia Miller of Rialxo, California, and 19 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a brother, and a grandson.
