Elmer H. Thietje 1907-1989

Funeral services for Elmer Thietje, 82, Reliance, were at 2pm, Tuesday, December 26, 1989, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Reliance.  Burial was in The Reliance Cemetery.

Elmer died Friday in Sunset Valley Haven.

Elmer H. Thietje was born April 6, 1907 to Mary (Baumgart) and Fred Thietje of Hillside.  As a small child he moved with his parents to Reliance  He attended grade school and graduated from high school in Reliance.  He graduated from the Sioux City Barber College in 1938.  Mr. Thietje worked on the railroad.

Survivors include four sisters: Lorraine Woodworth of Bremerton, Washington; Martha Powers of Miami, Florida; Sophia Norwick of Mitchell, and Berniece Nutt of Brookings. 

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Wevik Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
