Peter Erickson - Class Of 1926

Peter B. Erickson  1905-1981

Funeral services were held for Peter B. Erickson, 76,  at 11am, Wednesday, from the United Methodist Church, Reliance, with the Reverend John Lacoway and Reverend John Rick officiating.  Burial was in The Reliance Cemetery.

Mr. Erickson passed away Sunday at Community Bailey Hospital in Chamberlain.

Mr. Erickson was born January 25, 1905 at Reliance, to August and Emma Erickson.  He was a Watkins Distributor in Murdo, SD for seven years, leaving there to work in the Martin Bomber Plant, Omaha, Nebraska, during World War II. 

The family returned to Reliance in 1945 and farmed.  Since 1961 he had operated Erickson Green Houses northeast of Reliance, SD.

He was a member of The United Methodist Church, Chairman of The Reliance Township Board and a former member of the School Board.

September 19, 1935, he married Neva Fletcher at Mitchell.

Surviving relatives in addition to Neva, are one son, Robert, of Newcastle, Wyoming; three daughters: Mrs. Leroy Ketel (Joann), of Rapid City; Mrs. Gene Korzan (Betty). of Kimball; and Karen Lantz, Newcastle, Wyoming;  three brothers: John Erickson of Winner; Henry of Hamill, and Leonard, of Buhl, Minnesota; one sister, Esther Nelson and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, two brothers and one infant grandson.
