Ardean Lux Schoenhard 8/20/49-12/01/09

Funeral services for Ardean Schoenhard, 60, of Reliance will be Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.  Visitation will be Monday, November 30 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel.

Ardean Mary (Lux) Schoenhard was born August 20, 1949, at Mitchell, SD, to Louis John and Veryl Marie (Briggs) Lux.  Ardean graduated from Reliance High School in 1967.
She remained in the Lyman County area working as a caregiver and at the family café and motel then eventually becoming a housewife and homemaker raising her “perfect” children as Ardean would put it.  Ardean battled cancer for 17 years beating the odds with her strong will and determination. She passed away at Sanford USD Medical Center November 26, 2009, surrounded by her family.
Ardean loved sewing, cooking and knitting, almost as much as talking on the phone.  She spent hours scouring rummage sales for great deals and was eventually forced to open her own little shop in the family café due to “inventory overload.”  Ardean will always be remembered for her caring personality and giving nature, helping friends  and family.
Ardean devoted her whole life to her children and grandchildren.  Her passion for James, Kaylene, and Crystal was beyond a mother’s love.  She worked hard raising her children alone and was very proud of her life’s work.  Most importantly, Ardean will be remembered as an amazing mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her son James (Tonya) Schoenhard and daughter Kaylene Schoenhard both of Sioux Falls; four grandsons: Tanner, Chase, Mason, and Aiden Schoenhard; her mother Veryl Wagaman, Tucson, AZ; dear friend, Harry Bender, Reliance and many family and friends.

She is preceded in the death by her beautiful daughter Crystal, fathers, Louis Lux and Emil Wagaman, and three brothers, Rex Lux, Roland (Dude) Lux, and Rodney Lux, and one nephew.
