Everett Parkening 1911-1933
The funeral services for Everett Parkening, who was instantly killed five miles east of here on Tuesday of last week, were held at the Methodist Church in Reliance last Friday afternoon in charge of Reverend E. E. Hatfield. It was largely attended by friends of the deceased who came to pay their last tribute of respect.
Early in life he manifested excellent business qualifications and soon after his high school career, he entered the employ of the White Eagle Oil Co., and his services had been so acceptable to the company, that, he held a responsible position with that concern until the time of his death. He had the happy faculty of making friends and knew how to keep them. His untimely death is mourned by all.
Amil Everett Robert was born April 28, 1911 at Craig, Nebraska and died August 29, 1933 at the age of 22 years, 4 months, and 1 day. At the age of eight years, he, with his parents, moved to Reliance, SD where he grew to manhood. He attended the Reliance High School, from which he graduated with honors in 1928. He leaves to mourn his departure, his father and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Amil Parkening, two sisters, Mre. Jobe Marsden, and Eldelaine, and one brother, Evan, together with a host of other relatives and friends.
Internment was made in the Reliance Cemetery.
