
Ila Wagner 1912-2005
Ila Hope Wagner, 93, died Thursday, November 10, 2005 at her home in Reliance. Funeral services will be at 2pm, Tuesday at the Reliance Methodist Church in Reliance. Burial will be at the Reliance Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8pm Monday at the Hickey Wevik Funeral Chapel, Chamberlain.
She was born October 15, 1912 at home, one, of a set of twins, to Arthur and Purllue (Cosgrove) Eymer. She attended rural country school and graduated from Reliance High School in 1930. She attended Black Hills Teachers College, Spearfish, and received her teacher’s certificate. She taught several years in country schools in the Reliance area.
On April 10, 1937, she married Gilbert T. Wagner in Mitchell. They lived several places around Reliance until moving to her father-in-law’s farm.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women’s Club. She also belonged to a neighborhood ladies club for more than forty years.
She is survived by a son, Mark and wife, Linda, of Chamberlain. A daughter, Kathleen Thelen, and husband Ward of Reliance; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harry Eymer, Lyman; two sisters: her twin, Ina Walker and husband Frank, Reliance, and Arleen Swanson, Chamberlain.
She was preceded in death by her husband on September 27, 1992; her parents, and a brother, Quentin.
Memorials may be directed to the Reliance Methodist Church, or the Shriner’s Hospital.
