Alice Stewart (Cosgrove) - Class Of 1969

Alice Stewart Cosgrove 1951-1999

Funeral services for Alice F. Cosgrove, 47, Reliance, will be held  at 2pm, Thursday, February 25, at the United Church in Reliance with the Reverend Wayne Tieszen officiating.  Visitation was from 10 am 'til 9pm Wednesday at Wevik Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.   Burial will be in the Reliance Cemetery.

Mrs. Cosgrove passed away Sunday, Feb.21, 1999 at Mid-Dakota Hospital.

Alice Faye Stewart was born Oct. 25, 1951, at Chamberlain, the daughter of Carrol and Dorothy (Hoffer) Stewart.  She attended North Cooper Country School near Reliance and graduated from Reliance High School with the class of 1969.

She attended Mitchell Vo-Tech, taking business courses.  She later went to Denver, Colorado where she obtained her broadcasting license.  After returning to Reliance, Alice ran Channel 10 PBS Station at Reliance.  In th early '80's, she attended Stewart's School of Hair Design in Sioux Falls, receiving her beautician's license.  She returned home and worked for a short while at Helen's Beauty Shop in Chamberlain.

Alice married John Cosgrove Oct.1,1988 at Sioux Falls.  She helped her husband on the farm with his dairy operation.

She was very skilled and spent a lot of time crocheting, knitting and sewing.  She loved the farm and her animals and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church

Alice is survived by her husband at home, her parents; five brothers: Leland, Oacoma, Douglas and Steven, Reliance, Dennis, Tyndall, and Gordon, Rapid City; three sisters: Eileen Wheeler, Rapid City, Marilyn Robinson, Great Falls, Montana, and Donna Stewart, Olympia, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
