Harry Eymer 1917-2006

Harry Arthur Eymer, 88, died  Monday, April 10, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  Funeral services will be at 2PM Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Reliance and burial will be at the Reliance Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1pm to 8pm today at Hickey-Wevik Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7pm.

He was born on July 19, 1917 on a farm north of Reliance to Arthur and Purllue (Cosgrove) Eymer.  He attended country school and graduated Reliance High School  in 1934.  On June 6, 1942, he married  Mary Brammer in Cleveland, Ohio.  They lived in Cleveland until 1946 when they moved to their farm west of Reliance.  They farmed and ranched and also ran the Village Inn  at Lyman from 1966 to 1974.  In 1969 they moved to Chamberlain.

His wife died July 10, 1978, and he returned to the farm.  He was a bin-site supervisor for the ASCS in Lyman County.  He was also a board member for  Dirkstown School, and served on the Rex Township board. He was also a board member for the American  Creek Soil Conservation.

He is survived by a daughter, Sandy Evers, Reliance, two sons, Bruce, and Chris and wife Gayle Mohr, all of Reliance;  seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ina Walker, Kansas, and Arleen Swanson, Chamberlain.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers and a sister.
