Final rites were held at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kennebec Monday afternoon for Mrs. Leslie Mellegard, 35, who was one of three persons to perish in an automobile accident December 30, 1950, near Kennebec,

Rev. S.A. Hjelmseth, Presho, presided at the church service and burial in the Kennebec Cemetery under the direction of McColley Funeral Home in Chamberlain. A prior service was held in the Mellegard home in Kennebec.

Mrs. Mellegard was born Lena Irene Hamiel July 11, 1918, at Reliance and had lived there most of her life. Mr. Mellegard, who remains in good condition at Community Hospital following the accident, is manager of the Lyman County ASCS office.

Other survivors include three sons: Kenneth, 8, Kirby, 4, and Ricky, 22 months; a daughter, Myrna, age 14; parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Hamiel, Reliance; twp brothers: Donald Hamiel, Reliance, and Robert Hamiel, Presho; three sisters: Delma Hamiel, Reliance, Mrs. Noble Mellegard, Yankton, and Helen Hamiel, Kennebec.

Pallbearers were Harry Eymer, Leonard Brammer, Dallas Gifford, Ollie Gardner, Gerald gerard and Donald Caslin. Honorary pallbearers were Art Gilman, Paul Carstenson, Lyla McManus, Paul Gerard, James Jensen and B.B. Boese.
