Funeral services for Alma Muldoon, 90, of Chamberlain will be Monday, April 2, 2012 at 10:00 am at the St. James Catholic Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain. Visitation will begin Sunday at 5:00 pm with a 6:30 pm Rosary and 7:00 pm Scripture Service at St. James Catholic Church in Chamberlain.

Alma M. Lippens was born November 21, 1921 on the farm near Reliance to Edward and Helena (Dhondt) Lippens. She attended school in Reliance and graduated Valedictorian in 1939. After high school, she attended Mitchell Business College. Alma worked at the ASCS office in Kennebec.

On November 12, 1942, Alma was united in marriage to Joseph Muldoon on the Navy Pier in Chicago, IL. Alma worked alongside her husband on the farm and also worked as a bookkeeper at the Shanard Elevator. She was the caretaker of her mother for several years.

Alma was a member of St. James Catholic Church where she was very active in the Altar Society for many years. She faithfully attended daily mass and enjoyed going for breakfast afterwards with her friends. She was a member of the PTA and Lyman County Democratic Party and a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and traveling. She liked going for lunch at the Senior Citizens Center and visiting with friends and helping in the kitchen. Alma will be remembered by her family for her delicious meals and her warm hospitality.

Alma passed away on March 26, 2012 at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, SD. Gratefully sharing in her life are her sons Dr. Robert Muldoon and Connie of Atlantic, IA and Michael Muldoon and Carma of Oacoma, SD; six grandchildren Ryan Muldoon, Jason Muldoon, Cindy Stolte-Brown, Deirdre Lange, Maren Muldoon, and Brenna Muldoo; and nine great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Joe, daughter JoAnn Stolte, grandsons Tracey and Shannon Stolte, great grandson Caleb Lee Brown, and two sisters Margaret Johnson and Mary Wolf.
